Insects in general
There is a host of insects in our area that can cause plant and lawn damage. With the warmer than normal winters as of late they seem to be more numerous each year. Generally the month of June is when the problems start. The new pests have hatched and are on a feeding frenzy. You may start to notice plant that look like they are drying up or have been sprayed with something. This is usually the signs of a (sucking insect) They actually suck the juices out of the plant.
Disease in general
Most tree diseases are fungi related and the effects of these types of diseases are usually not seen until 3-4 weeks after the trees have budded out. Most of these diseases are weather related. Treatment is usually done as a preventive measure and not after the damage has been done. Most fungi related diseases will not kill a plant or tree. Young trees will generally show more stress to disease.
